# Sharing outside Mantle

> Create, review, and revoke public links for chats and canvases.

Public links let someone view a chat or canvas without joining your organization. Use them for material that is safe to
share outside your team.

## Share an AI chat

Open the chat and select **Share** in the header. Before Mantle creates the link, choose whether it should:

* show only the messages that exist now; or
* keep updating as new messages are added to the chat.

The shared page is for viewing. It does not let the visitor continue the original workspace conversation.

## Share a canvas

Open the canvas and select **Share**. Publish it, copy the public link, and open the public page once to check the
result. The visitor can read the canvas but cannot edit the workspace document.

## Review before sharing

Check the full item, not only the part you plan to discuss. Remove:

* passwords, keys, and private links;
* personal or customer information;
* internal instructions or comments not meant for the visitor;
* file contents you do not have permission to share;
* later chat messages that should not appear on an auto-updating link.

<Warning>
  Anyone who receives a public link may be able to open it and forward it. A link is not limited to the person you send
  it to.
</Warning>

## Manage and revoke links

Go to **Settings → Shared links** to review shared chats and canvases. Revoke a chat link or unpublish a canvas when it
should no longer be public.

Revoking the link stops future access through that URL. It cannot remove copies, screenshots, or exports someone already
made.

## Share with a teammate instead

If the person belongs in the work, invite them to the workspace. Membership gives them the correct ongoing access and
keeps collaboration inside Mantle. Use a public link only when view-only outside access is the right choice.
